Recall of banknotes from eighth series
The banknotes of the 8th series can be exchanged for an unlimited period of time
The SNB (Swiss National Bank) has recalled its eighth-series banknotes since 30 April 2021. These banknotes have lost their status as legal tender and can no longer be used for payment purposes.
They can be exchanged at an SNB counter in Berne and Zurich and at its branches for an unlimited period of time.
BCGE clients can make deposits with these banknotes at any of the Bank's ATMs until further notice. They can also be exchanged at the BNS branch located at the BCGE head office, Quai de l'Ile 17, 1204 Geneva from 9.30am to 11.30am and from 2pm to 3pm Monday to Friday.
