Payment signature

The payment signature is a payment validation function giving enhanced security for your Netbanking operations.
The payment signature is available for the CrontoSign means of authentication recommended by the BCGE.

How does it work ?

When you validate a payment for a new beneficiary, you will be directed to a screen which will ask you to sign for the transaction using a security code.

If you are authenticated by CrontoSign, all you have to do is scan the mosaic and key the code into your Netbanking payment.

Enter payment amount Capture mosaic Check Transfer
Saisissez votre paiement Capture mosaic Check Transfer
Enter payment amount in Netbanking Capture the mosaic which is displayed on your computer Check the information displayed on your smartphone or Cronto reader Transfer the code displayed on your Cronto device, then validate

Do all Netbanking payments have to be signed?

Only operations in favour of some beneficiaries are subject to payment signature validation. For most of the regular payments you already make today, payments will not require the signature.
Netbanking will therefore remain as simple and user-friendly as before, while simultaneously guaranteeing you a high level of security.

How does the payment signature make operations on Netbanking even more secure ?

The payment signature counters various types of attack that exist on internet (session hijacking, man in the middle, etc.). If a hacker were to infect your computer to carry out a fraudulent payment, in order to validate the payment he would need a code which only you possess. This additional security feature therefore means that the attack would fail.

Does this also mean having to take particular care of one’s mobile phone ?

Of course, just like your computer, a hacker can try to infect any electronic equipment and so you should also care about the security of your mobile phone which contains a wealth of very important confidential information.

Do I still need to protect my PC if I have the payment signature ?

It’s a must if you carry out financial transactions using your computer (e-banking, credit card payments, transfer of confidential information, etc.): there is an increasing number of threats on internet. Nowadays it is essential to have good anti-virus software and to implement the security recommendations available on our website.

For the security of your internet connection to our ebanking platform, we recommend that you consult our NETBANKING – SECURITE pages.
